Recycle Moore!
The City of Moore now offers opportunities for residents to recycle household waste and hazardous waste!
The Recycle Moore facility is located at: 400 N. Telephone Road
Hours of operation are: M-F 8am-5pm & Saturday 10am-2pm
This facility is temporary. By early 2011, the Temporary Recycling Facility will be transformed into the permanent “Recycle Moore Facility”, a manned drop-off recycling facility with expanded hours of operation. The Recycle Moore Program is funded through the US Department of Energy using ARRA stimulus grant funds.
The Recycle Moore Facility accepts the following recyclables:
- Mixed Fibers: newspaper, cereal boxes, office paper, magazines, junk mail, cardboard, etc. PLEASE BREAKDOWN YOUR CARDBOARD BOXES.
- Plastics 1 & 2: Soft drink and juice bottles, water bottles, mouthwash bottles, peanut butter containers, salad dressing containers, vegetable oil bottles, milk containers, bleach, detergent, and shampoo bottles, grocery and retail carrying bags, motor oil bottles, butter and margarine tubs, household cleaner bottles, yogurt containers, and cereal box liners. PLEASE LOOK AT THE NUMBER INSIDE THE RECYCLING ARROWS TO DETERMINE THE PLASTIC NUMBER. Click here to view types of plastic we accept.
- Aluminum and Tin
Plastic bags (i.e. Wal-Mart bags) can be recycled at Wal-Mart. Glass is currently not accepted at the recycling center. The market for glass is very limited. Norman has drop-off centers for glass at the following locations:
- Hollywood Shopping Center - McGee and Lindsey
- Hobby Lobby - 24th Ave. NW and Main St.
- Cleveland County Fairgrounds - 1499 N. Porter

Household Hazardous Waste
Moore residents may now use the City of Oklahoma City’s Household Hazardous Waste collection and disposal facility. This is an excellent service that is in demand, and we hope that you will find the collection facility convenient and easy to use.
The OKC HHW Facility will take:
- Gas, motor oil, brake fluid, antifreeze
- Pesticides, fertilizer
- CFL, fluorescent light bulbs (Home Depot and Lowes also accept CFL Bulbs)
- Swimming pool chemicals
- Household cleaners
- Paint

- Biomedical Waste
- Commercial Waste
- Refrigerant, compressed gas containers
- Tires
- TV's, computers, or other electronics
- Refrigerators, stoves, and other appliances
Those items NOT suitable for the OKC facility, the Moore Sanitation Dept. may be able to pick up in a terminator pickup. Call the Moore Public Works Department at (405) 793-5070 to determine if you have items that can be picked up.

- Gather your items and place them in your car-trunk or backseat is fine
- Pull into the drive-in facility, and a trained technician will take your items and ask you a few questions
- Bring your driver’s license (must have a Moore address) or current water bill to prove residency
- Allow the technicians to unload your items
Each Moore household is currently allowed one free 7.5 gallons or less drop-off per month. If you bring more than 7.5 gallons or if you go more than once per month, a charge will be assessed to your water bill according to the fee list below:
Under 7.5 gallons: one free monthly pass per household
More than once per month a $39.50 charge per visit
Between 7.5 – 15 gallons: $79 charge to resident
Between 15 – 22.5 gallons: $118.50 charge to resident
Over 22.5 gallons: $158.00 charge to resident
Free service may be reduced based on level of demand. Please call Moore City Hall prior to drop-off to confirm pricing.
